Mountain View Psychological 

Mountain View Psychological provides counselling and facilitation services to the Grande Prairie, Alberta area. We offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental therapeutic setting where individuals, couples and families can explore their personal, and often times sensitive, concerns and feelings. We offer short-term (up to 6 sessions) or long-term (open-ended) counselling to suit everyone’s needs and budget.

 

Beyond counselling services, Mountain View Psychological offers facilitation services such as workshops, keynote, and educational sessions. Topic include but are not Limited to, Aboriginal Awareness Training, Self-Care for Care Givers, Bringing Baby Home, 7 Principles for Making a Marriage Work, It Take a Community To Raise a Child, Promote Resiliance Now, and The Impacts of Trauma. If your agency, company or group would like to learn more about the topics we educate on, please feel free to contact us or click on our trainings page.

TYPICAL COUNSELLING PROCESS FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES
 
  • Initial Session: The nature of the problem is explored and goals for counselling are identified.

  • Subsequent Sessions: Further self reflection continues, while strategies and solutions are developed and employed. 

  • Closing Session: Progress is reviewed, gains are highlighted, and a follow-up session is booked if needed.

 

We are committed to equipping you with practical tools and strategies that will help you solve present and future challenges.  After each session, we will provide some hands-on exercises that will help you move closer to your goals.

TYPICAL COUNSELLING PROCESS FOR
COUPLES
 
  • Initial Session: An assessment is conducted with the couple to explore the nature of the problem and their interactions. 
  • Individual Session: A private session is conducted with each individual.
  • Contracting Session: An overview of the assessment is given with an outline of strategies and goals to work towards in therapy. 
  • Subsequent Sessions: Various strategies are employed to work towards the couple’s goals.
  • Closing Session: Progress is reviewed, gains are highlighted, and a follow-up session is booked if needed.
